KingCo Preview

This year's Redmond Cross Country Team makes it's pre-season debut at the KingCo Preview at Lincoln Park, with many runners setting PR's on the speedy course, Miles Hille taking first place in the Boys Varsity Race and standout performances among incoming Freshman Zach Kirwan (11th) & Kelsey Dunn (9th), Senior Jenna Sanders (11th) and Sophomore Jonathan Stevens (6th).

When KingCo Preview rolls around, you truly know that Fall is in the air. This meet is highly anticipated by coaches, runners and fans. The athletes get to run on the championship course (where they will return in Oct), testing the turns, hills and footing. The coaches view how the athletes respond to the first big race of the season. And the fans enjoy the stunning course in Lincoln Park while checking out the who's who of the 2010 Cross Country season.

This years KingCo was going to look very different as Redmond graduated a large class of front running seniors, in both boys and girls. With pre-race determined strategies, newcomers and returners took to the line in 4 different races: Girls JV, Girls V, Boys V and Boys JV. Many were anxious about the large number of competitors, but once the gun went off, they worked on sticking to race plans.

There were many outstanding PRs (personal records) gained on the speedy course and also one KingCo Preview 1st place finisher. Miles Hille dominated the field, finishing 1st in 15:52. Other stand out performances include:

Sophomore Johnathan Stevens 6th 16:24
Freshman Zach Kirwan 11th 16:54
Freshman Kelsey Dunn 9th 20:08
Senior Jenna Sanders 11th 20:21

With a 2010 Redmond XC team of 70+ athletes, accomplished performances are too many to note. Please visit Athletic.net for the complete results.
