Hi everyone –
As
Coach Villeneuve mentioned in his last email, “we will be given $1200
for providing 40 volunteers for the Black Diamond Triathlon on Sunday,
Sept. 16th from 7 am to 1 pm. The kids are signing up and the logistics
will be coordinated by the booster club, as I have family commitments in
Oregon that weekend. We have helped at the Kirkland Triathlon the past
two years and this has been a valuable experience for all involved. It
looks great on the resume and college applications!”
The
triathlon takes place at Nolte State Park near Enumclaw, and we need
drivers for carpools to get the kids there. We should plan to be on the
road by 5:45 a.m. according to Google Maps so that we arrive no later
than 7 a.m.
Please reply and let me know if you can
drive to and from and the number of passengers you can accommodate.
With 40 volunteers going, we need about 11-12 drivers assuming 3-4
volunteers in each car. I’ll let you know as soon as we have enough
drivers, and we’ll work out details to make it as easy as possible given
the early departure! If you have questions, please email me at
jjjjstevens@comcast.net or call me at 425-260-7054.
Entrance to Nolte State Park address:

Google
Maps has 3 suggested routes. All are about the same mileage (44 miles)
and drive time (1 hour 13 minutes) from Redmond High School:

As always, thank you for your
help. In addition to the experience and resume builder for the kids,
the $1,200 helps cover our 2012 budget! Our budget includes 2012 team
t-shirts for all athletes and coaches, two additional tents for our
athletes at meets, some smaller equipment/supplies coaches may need,
healthy snacks at our weekday meets, and our annual team videoJ
