Only 5 weeks until our Alumni/Time Trial on August 25 at Hartman Park.
Hope everyone is having a great summer, enjoying the beautiful hot weather and that you are following your summer training plans. Please try to attend practice Monday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 at Hartman Park and Saturday 9:00 a.m. at the Redmond Watershed (Novelty Hill entrance).
Quality running shoes are very important and everyone should have at least 1 pair.
They should be less than 1 year old with less than 500 miles. Super Jock N Jill in Redmond is very friendly to our XC runners and will treat you right. Think about it - your shoes are the only thing between you and the ground. When you run your foot strikes the ground with a force 2-3 times your body weight. Quality shoes not only feel great, they can help you avoid injuries as you rack up the miles.
You might also want to consider an inexpensive timing device to help track your pace and mile splits.
Reminder! All Varsity runners going to Camp Casey need to send in their forms ASAP.
Please check out the attached articles on iron deficiency. Summer is a great time to get tested to avoid having your season impacted by iron related fatigue.
